Vilnius University

Following the publication of the Times Higher Education - QS “600 best universities in 2008 Rank, it appeared that the Vilnius University falls between 5 percent. the world’s best universities. They gather in 1000 at universities around the world. 1-400 ranking points are determined precisely, the lower space is divided into two major groups - 401-500 and  501-600 . The world’s best universities in 2008, ranking the Vilnius University share the  501-600  seats. VU between the university took a 224-268 seat and the only one of the Baltic countries fall between the 18 best in Central and Eastern European universities.

Together with VU, who in 2007 and 2008 ratings were published by the best Lithuanian University, the  500-600  has the best universities such well-known universities in Europe as the University of Porto, the Portuguese university ranking occupying 1-2 positions, one of the best Hungarian universities - University of Szeged, as well as the University of Milan, a leader of Italy. Ten universities in the rating is dominated by the United States (6) and the United Kingdom (4) universities.
Vilnius University is not only the best, but the oldest Lithuanian High School. It is 1579, Jesuits established the Lithuanian capital.
